What are our office policies concerning prescriptions?
Medications have potential side effects and therefore we have policies in place governing their use in order to keep you safe and sound. If you are on medications that are considered “maintenance”(same dose, same way, every day), refills can be considered for that medication. Many refills for meds can be called into your pharmacy. Some prescriptions though, need to be in writing and picked up at the office. We require a 3 day lead time so your medication can be properly written, documented and prepared for your pick-up. An Office Policy Contract is required for all patients. If a “controlled” medication is prescribed, we can be the only physician’s office that is prescribing that medication at the same time. You also need to take the medication ONLY as described on the prescription/label. Only one pharmacy is to be utilized in the filling of those prescriptions.
